Bridgestone Americas, BSRO win Car Care Council awards

The Car Care Council has recognized Bridgestone Americas (BSA) and Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC (BSRO) with a pair of Automotive Communication Awards for BSA’s driver safety education initiatives and BSRO’s Car Care Academy program. The awards presentation will be held during the Council’s Women’s Board reception on Nov. 2, during Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las
Vegas, Nev.

This year, BSA was honored for its public relations efforts surrounding its driver safety education programs, including: Safety Scholars(safetyscholars.com), a web-based video scholarship contest, and Teens Drive Smart (teensdrivesmart.com), an online teen driver safety education resource. The company also supports general driver safety education through TireSafety.com and by serving as title sponsor of Driver’s Edge, a hands-on driver education program for teen drivers.

BSRO’s Car Care Academy program, launched nearly 40 years ago, teaches consumers how to save time and money by taking simple steps to keep their vehicles running newer, longer. BSRO has expanded the program beyond the free, in-person Car Care Academies into a comprehensive, multifaceted advocacy campaign dedicated to informing the public about proper vehicle maintenance and safety in a variety of venues.

The Car Care Council Women’s Board and the Automotive Communication Council recognize the efforts of companies that, throughout the year, proactively provide automotive information to their consumers.
