Bloomingdale Support Center Creates Women’s Business Council (WBC) Chapter

The talented women of Bridgestone Retail Operations’ Bloomingdale Support Center recently hosted their first networking function for their new Women’s Business Council chapter.  Bloomingdale recently joined the group of Bridgestone Americas locations that have established groups dedicated to the development and achievement of women.

Female teammates will serve on a number of chapter committees to increase the visibility of BSRO women and their achievements within the organization, facilitate mentoring and internal/external networking opportunities, focus on women’s recruitment, development and retention, and give back to women in the community.

“The WBC will provide a forum for education and professional development targeted to strengthen the advancement of women in BSRO, “said Susan Lane, Manager, Real Estate Transactions and Planning and WBC Chairperson. “Our members will have the opportunity to showcase their talents by working on the council activities, while helping the company achieve its goal of increasing the number of women in Retail Operations.”

The WBC includes executive sponsorship and reports directly to the BSRO’s Chairman’s Diversity, Advisory and Inclusion Board.

“The Bloomingdale Support Center is proud to announce the launch of the newest chapter of the Women’s Business Council,” said Matt Hoskins, President, BSRO. “With a customer base comprised of 50 percent women, BSRO plans to recruit, develop and retain women, particularly in store positions, with the goal of improving the automotive service experience and the communities we serve.”
