BATO Acuña facility receives Mexico’s highest safety honor

Mexico’s National Secretary of Labor, Javier Lozano Alarcon, recently awarded the Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations facility in Acuña, Mexico (BAPD) with the Safety Industry Certification, the country’s highest safety honor. The plant in Acuña is the third BATO facility in Mexico to receive this award, which recognizes companies that uphold the maximum criteria of “Safe Industry.”
Forty-four companies across Mexico representing a broad range of industrial branches received this esteemed recognition, placing them in the country’s safety elite. Together, these companies averaged .31 accidents per 100 workers, which is 88.9 percent below Mexico’s national average of 2.8. Additionally, not a single company recorded any permanent medical leave of absence or death among employees.
